Best KYB software in 2026: seven tools, honestly compared.
The best KYB software for your firm depends on who you onboard and where you operate. Like nearly every list ranking on Google today, this one was written by a vendor about itself, with one difference: we say so here, we tell you what each tool is genuinely best at, and we link to comparisons where we argue against ourselves. Vendor descriptions reflect public positioning as of August 2026; verify with each vendor.

How we judged
We judged KYB software on five questions: whether the core object is a company or a person; whether the workflow is included or assembled by your team around data and APIs; how UBOs are discovered, verified and evidenced; what the audit export looks like and how fast deployment is; and what the first year really costs, including implementation and staffing.
The seven
The seven KYB software tools compared here are KYCK, Middesk, Sumsub, ComplyAdvantage, Kyckr, KYC Portal and Fenergo. Each entry states what the tool is genuinely best at, from corporate counterparty due diligence to US business verification, screening data, registry documents and enterprise client lifecycle management, with KYCK's own bias disclosed throughout.
KYCK
BEST FOR: Corporate counterparty due diligence, live in a dayKYB-first by design: counterparty onboarding portal, sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening on entities and their people, UBO chains with the 50 percent rule, vessel screening for maritime and trading firms, and a one-click disclosure package. No implementation programme; pricing scales with screening volume. Weakest where you need consumer-scale biometric IDV, which is simply not the product.
Middesk
BEST FOR: US business verification at application timeA focused business-verification API for the United States: registrations, watchlists, officers, built to slot into product signup flows. Strong for US-centric platforms onboarding businesses programmatically; less aimed at the multi-jurisdiction, document-heavy diligence a trading or services firm runs.
Sumsub
BEST FOR: Consumer IDV with business verification attachedBest known for individual identity verification at scale, with business verification available alongside. If your volume is people, it belongs on your IDV shortlist; if your risk is companies, see our full Sumsub comparison for where the category boundary falls.
ComplyAdvantage
BEST FOR: Screening data and APIs for in-house buildsA data-first vendor: sanctions, PEP and adverse media datasets with mature APIs. The right foundation when you have engineers and want to design your own workflow; the trade-offs are covered in our ComplyAdvantage comparison.
Kyckr
BEST FOR: Registry documents and data at volumeRetrieval of official company registry records worldwide, delivered as data. An ingredient rather than a kitchen: it supplies the documents your process consumes. Unrelated to KYCK despite the name; the untangling lives in our KYCK vs Kyckr page.
KYC Portal
BEST FOR: Deeply configured client lifecycle programmesA configure-everything CLM for organisations with a platform owner and genuinely bespoke lifecycle requirements. Powerful when held properly, heavy when not; the weight-class question is the whole of our KYC Portal comparison.
Fenergo
BEST FOR: Tier-1 banks consolidating onboarding globallyEnterprise CLM for global financial institutions, with the scope, pricing and implementation programmes that implies. If you are a bank, shortlist it; if you are a desk, read why desks pick differently.
The shortcut version
The right KYB software in 2026 depends on your counterparty book: KYCK for corporate counterparties without engineers, Middesk for US signup-flow checks via API, Sumsub for thousands of individual users, ComplyAdvantage for in-house builds on strong data, Kyckr for registry documents at volume, and KYC Portal or Fenergo for bespoke enterprise lifecycles, by scale.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between KYB and KYC software?
KYC software verifies individual people: documents, selfies, biometrics. KYB software verifies businesses: registration, ownership structure, UBOs and the sanctions exposure of the company and the people behind it. Plenty of vendors do one well and the other as an afterthought, which is why the first shortlisting question is which problem you actually have.
Why is KYCK first on its own list?
Because this is our site, and pretending otherwise would insult you. The entry states what KYCK is best at and what it is not; the other entries are written just as plainly, and several link to our own deeper comparisons where we say when the other tool is the better choice.
Do we need more than one of these tools?
Sometimes. A consumer fintech with a corporate book might run an IDV platform for signups and a KYB platform for business counterparties. Data-first vendors pair naturally with in-house builds. The list notes which combinations make sense.
