goAML registration is a form. The report is the test.

Everyone focuses on getting registered on goAML. Almost no one plans for what comes after. Registration is a form you complete once. The report is the test, and when it comes, the question is always the same: show your work on the counterparty.

What registration actually gets you

goAML is the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit's reporting platform. Registration takes two stages: a pre-registration on the FIU's access control system, then the registration of the organisation and its users on goAML itself. Our goAML registration guide walks through both. Once it is done, you have a login. You do not yet have the ability to file a report that stands up.

The reports that follow

In a July 2025 notice to the firms it supervises, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market listed the reports that go through goAML and when each one is due. Among them:

  • Suspicious transaction and suspicious activity reports, as soon as practicable and without delay once the MLRO has determined there is a suspicion.
  • A partial name match report, within 24 hours of finding a potential match against the UN or UAE local terrorist lists, with the relationship suspended.
  • A funds freeze report after a confirmed match: assets frozen within 24 hours and the report filed within five calendar days of the freeze.
  • High risk country reports, at least three calendar days before the activity or transaction takes place.

Each of those deadlines is measured in hours or days. None of them leaves time to reconstruct a counterparty file from scratch.

Every report asks the same four questions

Whether you are filing a report or explaining to a regulator why you did not, the evidence comes down to the counterparty:

  • Who is the company, really, according to the registry and not its email signature?
  • Who ultimately owns and controls it?
  • Were the company or its owners on a sanctions or PEP list at the time, and when was that checked?
  • What did adverse media say, and on which date?

If the answers live in spreadsheets and email threads, you rebuild them under pressure, against a deadline. That is how gaps become findings.

Keep the evidence ready before you need it

KYCK keeps the counterparty file that sits behind every report: business verification, beneficial ownership, sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening, ongoing re-screening, and a timestamped audit trail of every check and decision. You still file through goAML. When you do, the facts you need are already in one place, dated. See how screening and counterparty onboarding keep that file current.
